I think yes..... but there are definitely drawbacks. Good stuff: Get to see the instructor of your dreams teaching the material you want to learn whenever you want to work on it. Bad stuff: well, for me I miss the live interaction and on the spot correction that happens in studio. I worry that I will unknowingly be making mistakes and then putting them into muscle memory. Then later those will have to be corrected in studio class. In general I would much rather learn it correctly the first time. But I will say that I have gotten some completely unforeseen insights from the on-line experience, moments that make me go hmmmm.
I recently had the opportunity to dance with an awesome FCBD troupie and within that hour got feedback, made a few minor body position adjustments and came out with huge results! And then there was cheesecake...
So, I say go fire up the laptop and get moving! But I will definitely still be going to class to make sure I'm on the right track. What do you think?
